Buy the Shield X if you want a thin American made 9mm with the flush and extended magazine capacities they cover, you like M&P ergos, and you want factory optics ready with a light rail without moving up to a full size compact. Skip it if a Shield Plus already covers your carry and you do not need the taller grip or extra capacity, or if you want a compensated slide first. Watch their grip and sight notes before you treat every new Shield badge as an automatic upgrade.
