Here’s our take. Buy the 309 MRD if you want an optics-ready FN duty 9mm without stepping up to a 509, and you can live with holsters and spare mags still catching up on a new platform. Skip it if you need the aftermarket depth of a Glock 19 or a proven FN 509 already in your kit. Watch their continuous burn-down before you treat “no lube” as a care plan.
