The short version of what he covers: Canik + Taran Butler / Taran Tactical collab (John Wick trainer). Made in Turkey; he notes Canik is building a West Palm Beach plant. Box gun is 18+1 plus a second mag with a TTI extension (he quotes both 22- and 24-round on that extended mag). Standard Canik mags fit. Grip texture is aggressive pyramid stippling front and back, multiple backstraps, double undercut, 3-slot Pic rail, thumb memory pad / offside finger rest, extended mag release, magwell. Slide is Cerakote over black nitride in TTI bronze, deep serrations into the cover plate, relief cuts and ports. Comp is ported with the barrel and quick-detach — he is explicit it is not a threaded barrel (some states ban those). Fiber-optic front, serrated blacked-out rear (Taran called fiber mandatory for competition). Cocked-striker and loaded-chamber indicators. Optics-ready; his sample wore a Mecanik MO3 6 MOA with a metal plate that keeps the rear sight. Flat-face aluminum checkered trigger, Taran 90-degree break; Lyman on his sample 3 lb 6.4 oz and 3 lb 10 oz vs Canik’s 3.5 lb claim. Weight 29.4 oz. He compared it to a METE (his other favorite full-size besides the Rival): TTI grip is more aggressive, slide a touch shorter, overall about 1/4 inch longer than a standard METE even with the comp, and he still calls out a 5-inch barrel with the comp on. Field strip: take down tabs, then QD the comp (thumb the lever, turn) to get the spiral-fluted ported barrel out. Recoil spring is all-metal flat-wire. Box extras he showed: optic plates, backstraps, holster, mag loader, tools, reduced-power recoil spring, lockable case, collab coin. MSRP he quoted $949; street often less; PSA Gathering lines to shoot it were the longest. Pros he names: collab stamp, flat shooting, QD comp, stippling, magwell, fiber sights, optics-ready, trigger, accessories. Cons: he says none for him. Reliability/accuracy claims are his, not ours.

Here’s our take. A QD island-style comp and a 3.5 lb competition trigger are a range and match argument, not a duty one. The bronze is the look; the gun is still a polymer Canik with extra cuts in the slide. If you want the Taran package without sending your own pistol to a custom shop, $949 MSRP is the number he used.
