Proof Research | PR10 Carbon Fiber AR Barrel | 308 Win | Stainless

Proof Research starts every barrel from a full‑profile, match‑grade 416R stainless steel blank, turns it down to a reduced contour, then wraps it in seven layers of differently‑angled, aerospace‑grade carbon fiber impregnated with the company's own proprietary resin. That carbon fiber has up to 30 times the specific strength and 7 times the specific stiffness of steel, which is how Proof gets a genuine 64% weight reduction over a comparable all‑steel barrel without giving up rigidity. Every barrel is still single‑point cut rifled and lead‑lapped -- the same precision process used on Proof's steel barrels -- and the helical wrap pattern actually improves longitudinal heat diffusion, so these barrels cool faster and hold accuracy longer through a real string of fire than the weight savings alone would suggest. The PR10 scales Proof's AR barrel technology up to the larger AR‑10 platform, giving a .308‑class semi‑auto the same genuine 64% weight reduction and improved cooling that make Proof's carbon fiber barrels measurably outperform steel on sustained strings of fire.
